Our 1st birthday party

On Sunday 26th May Chapter 12 celebrated it’s first birthday with a party – Thanks to all 80+ guests…And thanks everyone for helping us celebrate and for joining in the fun!

We had a whole afternoon and evening of live music – with Peter Willson’s ‘Battle of the Pianos’ in the afternoon from 4.00pm SavedPicture-2013526153052.jpg

And then from 7.30pm we had a ticket only evening of music from the Stray Dogs and the Boogera Brothers…

Tickets cost just £12  – and that included a selection of our favourite platters and food choices from our popular menu and a glass of bubbly for the toast to Chapter 12’s first year!

  2. ‘Battle of the Pianos’

As we heard the strains of “Puttin’ on the Ritz” emanating from Chapter 12 on that gloriously sunny afternoon last Sunday I knew we were in for a treat, and was it ever.
My first impression was that Peter and Simon had done battle many a time before, such was the clever thrust and parry between them, with one continually taking up the challenge deftly laid down by the other. I was surprised then to learn afterwards that this was in fact their first engagement..That being the case, we have much to look forward to in future encounters.
As for the songs.. these ran the full gamut from Classical to Blues and beyond and included favourites such as Moondance; They Can’t Take That Away From Me; Night and Day; Cry Me a River; You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To and Let’s Face the Music and Dance, along with some delightful surprises: In the Hall of the Mountain King and the theme to the TV show The Apprentice, to name but a few.
A most enjoyable afternoon, made even better by some good food, good company and the elegant surroundings of Chapter 12.
